Fire Alarm & Gas Suppression Engineer (Site Based - No call out)

Location: East India Dock, London

The Opportunity
V7 Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading fire and life safety specialist to recruit a Site-Based Fire Alarm & Gas Suppression Engineer to support a high-profile data centre site in East India Dock, London.

This is a permanent, site-based position responsible for the service, maintenance and fault finding of fire detection and gas suppression systems within a critical data centre environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all life safety systems remain fully operational, compliant and maintained to the highest industry standards.
This opportunity would suit an experienced engineer looking for a stable role, with little travel & no callouts, on a flagship site, working within a highly professional and structured environment.

Responsibilities & Experience Required
  • Service and maintain fire alarm and gas suppression systems across the data centre site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with service schedules
  • Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently
  • Test and maintain gas suppression systems including cylinders, control panels and detection interfaces
  • Ensure all systems remain compliant with BS 5839 and relevant suppression standards
  • Complete service documentation and maintenance reports
  • Liaise with site management and technical teams where required
  • Maintain high standards of safety and compliance within a critical environment
Experience Needed
  • Proven experience servicing fire alarm systems
  • Experience working with gas suppression systems 
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good knowledge of BS 5839 standards
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Experience with leading manufacturers such as Gent or Notifier is essential
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on a single-site contract are essential.
