About me:
I’ve been in recruitment and operations for most of my career, mainly around big, complex projects. A lot of what I’ve done has been about pulling things together - building teams, dealing with the day-to-day challenges, and making sure everything actually works in the real world. That’s included everything from logistics and HR through to legal and commercial sides. Working in many different locations and enjoying different cultures and languages.
I didn’t set out to get into recruitment - it just sort of happened - but I stayed in it because I enjoy the people side and the problem-solving. No two days are ever the same, and there’s always something to figure out. I like being in the middle of it, making things happen.
Outside of work, I like to keep things simple. I enjoy getting out for a walk, being outside, just switching off a bit. I’m a big football fan - Everton, so that comes with it's ups and downs. I probably watch all the games I can even if not on a friendly time zone. Music is probably my main way to unwind, followed by a drama that I can watch on the TV.
What do you enjoy most about working at V7 Recruitment?
It’s early days, but what drew me to V7 was the chance to help build something again. I’ve always enjoyed that side of things - being part of growing a business rather than just stepping into something that’s already set.
It feels like a place where you’re trusted to get on with things, which suits me. I like having a bit of freedom to work things out, build relationships, and do things properly rather than just ticking boxes.
I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, building out the client side, and helping grow the team as things develop. That’s the part I enjoy most - seeing things come together over time.
So far, it just feels like a good fit. Good people, good energy, and a chance to actually make a difference.

You Are Attracting Applicants, Not The Right Candidates One of the biggest misconceptions in hiring is the belief that more applications automatically lead to better hires. In reality, the opposite is often true. When a job advert is too broad, generic, or poorly targeted, it attracts volume instead of relevance. Hiring managers then spend hours filtering through unsustainable CVs, while genuinely qualified candidates either overlook the role entirely or disengage because the opportunity feels unclear.
