We are hiring a **Senior Mechanical Project Engineer** to join our team in Finland to support the delivery of a **250MW greenfield data centre**.
This is a **client-side role**. You will represent the owner and take responsibility for the mechanical scope from design development through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
## The Role
You will oversee the mechanical infrastructure for the project, ensuring it is designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in line with the project requirements, local regulations, and agreed programme.
You will work closely with design consultants, EPC contractors, specialist mechanical contractors, equipment vendors, and commissioning teams to make sure the mechanical systems are delivered safely, on time, and to the required standard.
## Key Responsibilities
• Manage the mechanical scope across all project phases
• Review and coordinate mechanical design documentation from consultants
• Oversee the installation and delivery of mechanical systems across the data centre
• Monitor installation of **HVAC, chilled water, cooling, ventilation, pumps, pipework and associated mechanical plant**
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, CSA and commissioning teams
• Review equipment specifications, technical submissions, method statements and commissioning procedures
• Attend FATs and support SATs, testing and commissioning activities
• Monitor contractor progress and ensure works are delivered in line with the project programme
• Ensure compliance with Finnish regulations and international standards
• Track progress, manage risks, and resolve technical issues
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, controls and commissioning teams
• Support final testing, commissioning and handover to operations
## Requirements
• Strong experience delivering **mechanical systems on large-scale projects**
• Experience on **data centres, industrial plants, pharmaceutical facilities, power projects, or similar critical facilities**
• Solid understanding of **HVAC, cooling systems, chilled water, ventilation and mechanical services**
• Experience managing mechanical contractors, consultants and specialist vendors
• Ability to review technical designs, specifications and installation documentation
• Experience working in a client-side, EPC or main contractor environment
• Ability to manage interfaces between mechanical and other project disciplines
• Comfortable working on site and leading technical discussions
• Strong understanding of construction, testing and commissioning processes
## What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone practical and technically strong, who understands how **large-scale mechanical and cooling systems are designed, installed and commissioned**, and who can take ownership of the mechanical package from the client side.
Experience delivering mechanical systems within a **hyperscale data centre environment** would be highly advantageous.
This role is based in **Finland** and will require regular site presence.
