About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Control Engineer / Control Engineer with experience in the Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in consolidating and enhancing the Nation’s electricity network for a smarter, more sustainable future.
Based in South Tyneside, you will take a lead control engineer role, overseeing and delivering contracts using Siemens control systems, ensuring the ongoing sustainability of our client’s industry customers.

Key Responsibilities

As our Senior Control Engineer, you will:
  • Technically lead industry control solutions and support the development of new colleagues.
  • Produce and check functional design specifications.
  • Develop and design control systems solutions.
  • Oversee and deliver customer factory and site testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects.
  • Provide technical recommendations for pre-sales activities.
  • Offer technical support on allocated projects.
  • Attend internal and external design reviews, providing technical guidance.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience within a control/automation background.
  • Minimum HNC/HND (or equivalent) qualification in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry.
Desirable
  • Experience developing medium to large-scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems, and communication infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings for control and protection systems.
  • Motivation to technically lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
