Job Description: QA/QC Lead – Data Centre Construction

Position Overview
The QA/QC Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all quality
assurance and quality control processes for a large-scale data centre construction project. This
role ensures that all construction activities meet design specifications, technical requirements,
industry standards, and client expectations. The QA/QC Lead works closely with construction
managers, contractors, design teams, commissioning engineers, and operations stakeholders to
ensure a consistent, reliable, and compliant delivery of all project works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation
• Develop and maintain the project-specific Quality Plan, in line with corporate standards
and contractual requirements.
• Establish quality procedures, inspection regimes, and documentation workflows for all
construction stages.
• Train and support project teams on quality processes, standards, and expectations.

2. Inspections, Testing & Verification
• Lead and perform inspections across CSA and MEP disciplines to ensure compliance with
drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
• Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and testing
documentation submitted by contractors.
• Ensure all material deliveries meet required certifications and performance criteria.
• Witness factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), and functional
performance tests as required.

3. Construction Quality Oversight
• Conduct routine site walks to monitor workmanship, identify non-conformances, and
ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Lead investigations into quality issues, root-cause analysis, and implementation of
preventative actions.
• Manage punchlists/snags across all phases of construction and track closure progress.
• Ensure construction tolerances, installation practices, and system integration meet
mission-critical requirements.

4. Document Control & Quality Records
• Maintain accurate and complete quality documentation, including inspection reports, test
results, NCR logs, corrective action plans, and material traceability.
• Ensure all as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and commissioning records meet client
specifications and handover requirements.
• Oversee quality-related documentation required for certification, regulatory inspections,
and client audits.

5. Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination
• Review contractor quality plans and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate with design consultants on design queries, discrepancies, and deviations.
• Lead quality-focused meetings with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Support procurement teams by evaluating vendor quality capabilities and factory
processes.

6. Compliance, Codes & Standards
• Ensure construction activities comply with:
o Local building regulations and statutory requirements
o Mission-critical standards and best practices
o Fire, life safety, and electrical codes
• Work with HSE teams to ensure quality and safety processes are integrated and followed.

7. Support for Commissioning & Handover
• Ensure systems and equipment are installed to meet commissioning criteria and
operational performance requirements.
• Verify completeness of commissioning documentation, test scripts, and inspection
records.
• Assist commissioning teams in tracking system readiness and resolving quality-related
blockers.
• Ensure final quality sign-off and documentation for client handover is fully compliant and
audit-ready.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Essential
• Proven experience in QA/QC roles within data centres, industrial, pharmaceutical, or
mission-critical construction.
• Strong knowledge of CSA and MEP quality standards, construction processes, and testing
procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes and system integration.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach.

Desirable
• Experience working within hyperscale or enterprise data centre environments.
• Familiarity with BIM, digital QA/QC tools, and construction management systems.
