We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer / Manager to join a leading consultancy delivering major Data Centre projects across London and Europe. This is a senior role with the opportunity to lead complex mission-critical facilities and mentor a talented engineering team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading electrical design and delivery for large-scale data centre projects
- Managing and mentoring teams of 3–10 engineers (local and international)
- Overseeing projects from concept through to construction and commissioning
- Driving quality and best practice in mission-critical electrical systems
- Engaging directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Providing technical expertise in LV/HV systems, UPS, generators, and resilience strategies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent vocational training with experience)
- 6–15 years’ experience in building services electrical engineering
- Proven mission-critical design experience (data centres, clean tech, telecoms)
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional registration)
- Strong technical expertise in HV/MV and LV systems, UPS, AC/DC, and switchgear
- Proficiency with tools such as Revit, Autocad, Amtech, Dialux, SKM, ETAP, or Easypower
- Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing deadlines, budgets, and risk
- Passion for mentoring and supporting team growth
