About the Company
The OFCI / LLE Manager is responsible for managing, overseeing and executing all Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) and Long Lead Equipment (LLE) related workstreams on a mission-critical data centre construction project. The OFCI / LLE Manager will be based on site and will report directly to the Project Lead and PMC Directors. The individual will represent the Client and act as the key interface between the Client, OEMs, vendors, logistics providers and appointed contractors.
About the Role
The role requires the OFCI / LLE Manager to proactively manage equipment procurement interfaces, manufacturing status, logistics, site readiness, installation coordination and handover activities to ensure all critical equipment packages are delivered, installed and commissioned in line with project programme requirements.
Responsibilities
OFCI / LLE Management
- The OFCI / LLE Manager will report to the Project Lead and PMC Directors.
- The OFCI / LLE Manager will manage all OFCI and LLE packages from procurement through to handover.
- The OFCI / LLE Manager will act as the key interface between the Client, contractors, OEMs and specialist vendors.
- The OFCI / LLE Manager will maintain accurate reporting channels for all equipment-related activities.
- The OFCI / LLE Manager will ensure all critical equipment packages align with programme milestones.
Procurement & Manufacturing Coordination
- Monitor manufacturing status of all long lead equipment.
- Review vendor production schedules and identify risks to delivery dates.
- Coordinate with client procurement teams regarding purchase orders and supplier commitments.
- Attend vendor progress meetings and factory reviews where required.
- Ensure manufacturing delays are identified and escalated early.
Logistics & Delivery Management
- Manage shipping, customs, freight forwarding and site delivery activities.
- Coordinate logistics planning for oversized and critical equipment deliveries.
- Ensure site storage, access routes and lifting strategies are planned before delivery.
- Maintain delivery trackers and live equipment registers.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure installation readiness.
Site Coordination & Installation
- Undertake site walks with contractors and wider project teams.
- Verify areas are ready for delivery and installation of critical equipment.
- Coordinate with CSA and MEP teams to resolve access or sequencing constraints.
- Ensure equipment installation follows approved drawings and technical requirements.
- Support resolution of site-related issues affecting equipment installation.
Risk & Programme Management
- Understand the project build sequence and relate activities to the P6 schedule.
- Identify delays, constraints and programme risks relating to equipment.
- Record risks, mitigation plans and recovery strategies.
- Escalate critical path concerns to project leadership.
Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate vendor attendance for commissioning activities.
- Support FAT, SAT and integrated systems testing.
- Ensure equipment documentation is complete including warranties and O&M manuals.
- Support handover to commissioning and operations teams.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote HSE at all times.
- Ensure delivery and lifting activities are executed safely.
- Ensure contractors follow site safety protocols during installation.
Documentation
- Maintain OFCI trackers, logistics registers and issue logs.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is recorded and stored correctly.
- Adhere to document management systems including SharePoint and project software.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience managing OFCI and/or major equipment packages on large-scale industrial, data centre, pharmaceutical or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of major MEP equipment including generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, chillers and cooling systems.
- Strong logistics and supply chain management experience.
- Strong understanding of sequencing, constructability and site logistics.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and vendor documentation.
- Strong reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively.
- Can work independently and proactively solve problems.
- Working on Capex projects.
- Working client and contractor side.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience within hyperscale or colocation data centre construction.
- Experience with European or Nordic logistics operations.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes.
