MEP Lead – Hyperscale Data Centre Project
Skellefteå, Sweden | Competitive Salary + Full Overseas Package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Lead to join a leading engineering contractor delivering one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developments. Based in Skellefteå, northern Sweden, you'll lead the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) delivery on a major mission-critical project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with project management, design teams, subcontractors and the client, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating all MEP activities from installation through to commissioning and handover on a landmark project.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
  • Experience within the MEP construction sector, with a strong leadership background.
  • Proven experience managing Mechanical and Electrical systems on large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous experience delivering data centres, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical or high-tech projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of MEP coordination, construction sequencing, programme management and commissioning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, installation methodologies and commissioning processes.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage programme, cost and project performance.
  • Committed to delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate day-to-day MEP site operations, ensuring effective collaboration with the wider project team.
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with project specifications and client standards.
  • Coordinate project programmes with planners, project managers, subcontractors, consultants and design teams.
  • Manage MEP subcontractor performance, including progress monitoring, manpower planning and coordination meetings.
  • Ensure subcontractor documentation, including health & safety records, is complete and maintained throughout the project.
  • Chair and attend site meetings, engineering reviews, planning meetings and handover meetings.
  • Liaise with design teams to ensure technical information and construction documentation support programme requirements.
  • Review drawings and technical submissions to ensure effective coordination across all MEP disciplines.
  • Promote the highest standards of health & safety across all MEP activities on site.
  • Support commercial activities through variation management, cost control and attendance at commercial review meetings.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee MEP snagging, commissioning support and close-out activities to achieve successful project handover.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical, design and coordination challenges to maintain programme and project objectives.
