The Opportunity A specialist commissioning consultancy is seeking an experienced M&E Commissioning Manager to support a major commercial project in Bristol. This is a hands-on contract role for an experienced manager who can lead commissioning activities across both mechanical and electrical building services.
You’ll play a crucial role ensuring systems are tested, validated, coordinated and delivered in accordance with project requirements—working closely with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage commissioning plans and strategies
- Oversee and coordinate M&E commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with specifications
- Manage daily and weekly commissioning progress, reporting to both internal and client teams
- Lead commissioning meetings, resolving technical issues and programme clashes
- Oversee test sheets, inspection and validation processes
- Coordinate with installation teams, design engineers and suppliers
- Manage documentation for witness testing, sign-off and final handover
- Ensure all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, BMS, life safety, public health) are commissioned to industry standards
- Proven experience as an M&E / MEP Commissioning Manager on large commercial projects
- Strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems
- Previous experience working with a commissioning consultancy(beneficial)
- Ability to manage commissioning teams and subcontractors
- Excellent understanding of commissioning protocols, testing, inspection and verification
- Strong communicator with proactive problem-solving skills
- Available to start at short notice (preferred)
- 6-month initial contract with potential extension
- Outside IR35
- ££500 per day
- Bristol-based with some site presence required
