The Role We are currently recruiting for a KVV / Underground Services Supervisor to join the site delivery team on a major 150MW hyperscale data centre project in Finland.
The successful candidate will work for the Project Management Consultancy (PMC), representing the end client on site, and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and quality control of underground KVV and associated external services across the project.
This is a site-based position working alongside the client, PMC, main contractor and specialist subcontractors to ensure underground services are delivered safely, to programme and in accordance with the approved design, specifications and project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation and delivery of underground KVV / external utility services on the data centre project.
- Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Coordinate underground services with civil, structural, electrical and mechanical workstreams.
- Review and monitor installation sequences, technical documentation and construction methodologies.
- Carry out regular site inspections to verify quality, progress and compliance.
- Identify design, coordination and construction issues and work with the relevant project teams to resolve them.
- Monitor trenching, excavation, pipework, drainage and associated underground infrastructure where applicable.
- Ensure required inspections, testing and documentation are completed throughout the works.
- Review subcontractor progress and provide regular updates to the PMC project management team.
- Coordinate interfaces between underground services and other site infrastructure.
- Support the management of permits, inspections, approvals and technical queries relating to underground services.
- Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with project HSE requirements and Finnish regulations.
- Monitor the production of as-built information and handover documentation.
- Attend coordination and progress meetings with the client, PMC, main contractor and subcontractors.
- Support commissioning and final completion activities relating to underground services where required.
- Proven experience in KVV, underground services, utilities or civil infrastructure supervision.
- Previous experience working as a Supervisor, Foreman, Site Manager, Project Engineer, Infrastructure Supervisor or similar.
- Strong understanding of underground utility installation and site infrastructure.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple construction disciplines.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction quality, safety and inspection processes.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Previous experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure or data centre projects
is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a client-side, PMC or consultancy environment
would be advantageous.
- Finnish construction experience
and knowledge of local standards/regulations would be beneficial.
