A well-established and highly respected Security and Communications provider, accredited to NSI Gold and BAFE standards, is seeking a Key Account Manager to join their expanding Customer Engagement Team based in the Birmingham area. Known nationally for their quality, care, and reliability, this innovative organisation specialises in the design, installation, service, and maintenance of integrated security systems, and also manufactures specialist equipment.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in the security sector to step into a client-facing role, managing key accounts and driving customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring service excellence and delivering tailored security solutions that meet both operational and strategic needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key contracts

  • Develop and maintain strong, high-quality relationships with customers

  • Understand and anticipate client needs from both a strategic and operational perspective

  • Act as the internal advocate for customer interests

  • Build and sustain relationships with manufacturers, consultants, and distributors in the security industry

  • Design, survey, and quote for life safety system installations, with a strong emphasis on CCTV

  • Support the tendering and bidding process for new business opportunities

  • Assist in producing commercial forecasts alongside the Head of Customer Engagement

Essential Experience / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the security sector

  • In-depth knowledge of CCTV systems, transmission technologies, and associated networks

  • Previous involvement in the design or installation of integrated life safety systems (including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, and Fire)

  • Experience generating build sheets and quotations

  • Track record of producing and submitting competitive tenders and bids

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer-first approach

Desirable Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of integrated and networked systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Commercially astute with a good understanding of pricing and contract dynamics

  • IT proficient, particularly with Microsoft Office packages

  • Collaborative team player aligned with delivering a premium service standard
