The Role: Fire Sytems Designer (Sub-contract)

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Design Engineer to support a growing portfolio of data centre projects.

This is a fully remote contract position, focused on the design and development of fire alarm and electronic security systems within critical environments. The role will involve working on both new build and upgrade projects, ensuring designs are compliant, accurate and aligned with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design of fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839
  • Design of security systems including CCTV, access control and intruder alarms
  • Production of detailed drawings, schematics and technical submittals
  • Working from client specifications, surveys and project requirements
  • Providing technical design support to project and delivery teams
  • Ensuring all designs meet relevant industry standards and compliance requirements

Requirements
  • Proven experience in fire and security system design
  • Experience working on data centre or other critical environment projects is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of BS 5839 and associated standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment

What’s on Offer
  • £45 per hour (Outside IR35)
  • 12-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
  • Weekly pay
