Fire Suppression Engineer

About the Role

V7 Recruitment is working with a leading UK-based provider in the fire protection industry to source an experienced Fire Suppression Engineer. This is a full-time, field-based role, with support from a central office located in the North West. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a wide range of fire suppression systems, focusing on service, maintenance, and installations across commercial and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to test fire suppression systems in line with British Standards and manufacturer guidelines.

• Service, maintain, and commission systems including:

  • FM200

  • Novec 1230

  • CO?

  • Inert Gas

  • Low and High Pressure Watermist

  • Aerosol (FirePro)

  • Kitchen Suppression Systems (Kitchenguard, Amerex, Ansul)

  • PAFSS

• Fault find using sound electrical principles.

• Log system activations and report findings using the Simpro system.

• Issue service certificates and advise senior management of any required rectifications.

• Complete service and installation work promptly and efficiently.

• Respond to emergency callouts with some requirement for overtime.

• Provide detailed technical reports regarding diagnostics, inspections, and repairs.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold a professional image at all times.

• Represent the company positively in all customer interactions.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.

• Practical knowledge of fire suppression systems listed above.

• Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.

• Full UK driving licence.

• High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Comfortable working independently or within a team.

• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

• Calm, structured, and practical under pressure.
