Location: South of the UK - Remote / Field-Based
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance / Vehicle + Benefits

The Opportunity
We are working with a rapidly growing fire safety specialist delivering high-quality, compliant services across the UK. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to support their residential portfolio.

This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and the chance to play a key role in improving fire safety standards across a wide range of residential properties.

The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out Type 1 and Type 3 fire risk assessments across residential buildings, producing detailed reports and advising clients on fire safety improvements in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Type 1 & Type 3 fire risk assessments across residential properties
  • Identify fire hazards, evaluate risk, and recommend proportionate remedial actions
  • Produce clear, detailed, and compliant fire risk assessment reports and action plans
  • Provide expert fire safety advice to clients, building managers, and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
    • Fire Safety Act 2021
    • Building Safety Act 2022
    • Relevant British Standards and guidance (e.g. BS 9999, Approved Document B)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge through CPD and industry engagement
What We’re Looking For

Essential:
  • Proven experience carrying out fire risk assessments within residential & commercial properties
  • Strong report writing skills with attention to detail
  • Fire risk assessment qualifications (e.g. Level 3 / Level 4 or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of UK fire safety legislation and guidance
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • FireQual Level 4 (or equivalent)
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. IFE)
  • Experience across HMOs, social housing, or high-rise residential buildings
  • Familiarity with PAS 79 methodology or digital FRA tools
