Fire Alarms & Security Systems Engineer (Subcontract)
V7 are seeking experienced Fire & Security Service and Maintenance Engineers to support a large-scale public sector programme across the Bath & Somerset area. This is a long-term subcontract opportunity with a national client, offering consistent workloads, stability, and the potential for multi-year extensions.

You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and security systems—including access control and intercom panels—across a diverse portfolio of public sector buildings, such as housing, education facilities, and care environments.

Role Overview
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspection, and compliance testing of emergency lighting in line with BS 5266
  • Service, fault-find, test, and repair addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839
  • Service and maintain security systems, including access control and intercom panels (testing, diagnostics, and repairs)
  • Attend reactive maintenance call-outs and complete remedial works where required
  • Complete accurate service reports and clearly communicate findings with site representatives
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with current industry standards and health & safety requirements
What’s on Offer
  • Stable, long-term subcontract work with a well-established national contractor
  • Monday to Friday working pattern, with optional weekend work available
  • 6-month rolling contract with strong potential for ongoing and multi-year engagement
  • Rates from £33.00 per hour, with enhanced overtime rates available
  • Outside IR35
  • Weekly payments every Friday
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining emergency lighting and fire alarm systems
  • Experience working with security systems, particularly access control and intercom panels
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good working knowledge of BS 5266 and BS 5839 standards
  • Experience working within public sector environments such as housing, education, or care settings
  • Valid DBS check required
