V7 Recruitment is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technical Consultant for a 6-month contract based in Brentwood, Essex.
This is an office-based technical role focused on reviewing completed fire alarm works, technical compliance and certification across a reactive and PPM contract.
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical fire alarm background who understands BS 5839 and has experience reviewing documentation and signing off fire alarm certification.
The Role
- Review completed fire alarm works and associated documentation
- Review and sign off fire alarm certification
- Check certification and supporting evidence for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure works meet BS 5839 and relevant industry standards
- Identify non-conformances and advise on remedial works required
- Provide technical guidance to engineers
- Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Liaise with engineers and clients regarding technical queries
- Maintain accurate certification and compliance records
- Strong technical background within the fire alarm industry
- Excellent working knowledge of BS 5839
- Previous experience reviewing or signing off fire alarm certification
- Experience within fire alarm design, commissioning, inspection or compliance
- Good knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and certification
- FIA or equivalent fire alarm qualifications advantageous
- BAFE or similar quality framework experience beneficial
