Location: East London, with Hybrid Working (1 or 2 days office-based) The Company V7 Recruitment are partnered with a leading global engineering organisation who are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative, large-scale estates, helping to improve safety, reliability and compliance across complex environments.
The Role As a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, modification and delivery of fire and security installations across the client’s estate. You will ensure all solutions remain compliant with current standards and client specifications, carrying out continual design assessments as requirements evolve.
You will work closely with internal departments, site contacts and stakeholders to produce comprehensive design documentation from initial concept through to completion and handover.

- Produce detailed designs for Fire systems including Fire Detection and Alarm, PA/VA, Aspirating Systems, Disabled Refuge.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) to support pricing, planning and project delivery.
- Manage design approval processes, ensuring full compliance with scope documents, regulations and industry guidelines.
- Lead projects from initial design stage through to full documentation at handover.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant client procedure documents and integrate requirements into all design work.
- Support contract administration processes under the guidance of the Design Manager, including Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Compile and produce Operations and Maintenance (O&M) documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify system deficiencies within existing estates and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Proven experience in the design of Fire Detection and Alarm, PA/VA, Aspirating Systems and Disabled Refuge solutions.
- Experience designing Security Systems such as CCTV, Access Control & Intruder alarms would be beneficial, but not required to apply
- Strong working knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to produce accurate technical documentation and comprehensive BOMs.
- Familiarity with contract administration processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design outputs simultaneously.
