Estimator South Birmingham
Our client, a leading construction company, is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their team in South Birmingham. This role would suit either an experienced Estimator or a Quantity Surveyor seeking to move away from site-based work into a pre-construction position.
The Role
You will lead and manage tenders from initial enquiry through to handover, ensuring commercially sound, competitive and compliant submissions. Working closely with internal teams and the supply chain, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality bids.

Ideal candidate:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience (Estimator or similar construction role)
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Analytical, organised and detail-focused
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Able to work under pressure and committed to continuous improvement
Duties include:
- Lead tender processes, including pricing and supply chain enquiries
- Identify value engineering opportunities and mitigate risk
- Monitor tender progress and report against estimating plans
- Maintain and update cost data, quotations and framework rates
- Prepare detailed handover documentation for delivery teams
- Ensure compliance with company quality, environmental and health & safety standards
