Location: Manchester (Hybrid / Site Travel Required)
Rate:£40 per hour
Contract: Long-term

The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering team delivering large-scale, mission critical projects. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability and the chance to work on high-profile developments.
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, supporting both design and construction phases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design of electrical systems for large mission critical projects, including LV Distribution, UPS systems and generator systems
  • Production of electrical schematics and layout drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Carry out electrical design calculations using Amtech (or similar)
  • Support lighting design using Dialux (desirable)
  • Prepare technical specifications and engineering reports
  • Attend design meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams
  • Support construction activities including site inspections and commissioning
  • Liaise with subcontractors and procurement teams
  • Review technical aspects of purchase orders
  • Provide technical support throughout installation and project delivery

Requirements
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
  • Experience in electrical design within building services (experience on mission critical projects advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred
  • Amtech experience beneficial
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
  • Based within commutable distance of Manchester with full UK working rights
