An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EHS Lead to join a leading engineering contractor delivering one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developments. Based in Skellefteå, northern Sweden, you'll provide strategic leadership for all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across a major mission-critical project, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and environmental performance are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with senior management, construction teams, clients and subcontractors, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement across one of Europe's most significant data centre developments.

- Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8–10 years' experience leading EHS on large-scale construction projects within a main contracting environment.
- Previous experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, industrial or high-tech construction projects is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing EHS teams.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, industry standards and best practices.
- Experience developing and implementing project-wide EHS strategies and management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems.
- Able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while providing strategic leadership.
- Passionate about driving a positive safety culture and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
- Lead the overall Environmental, Health & Safety strategy across the project, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practice.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to the project EHS team, including Advisors, Managers and subcontractor safety personnel.
- Oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
- Review and approve high-risk RAMS, Safe Plans of Action (SPAs) and permit-to-work systems, ensuring effective control measures are in place.
- Drive proactive risk management by identifying emerging risks and implementing mitigation strategies across all project activities.
- Lead senior-level incident investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous organisational learning.
- Present EHS performance, trends and strategic updates to senior management, clients and key stakeholders.
- Monitor and audit subcontractor EHS performance to ensure compliance with project and company standards.
- Champion a positive safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives, engagement and continuous improvement programmes.
- Oversee statutory inspections, compliance audits and regulatory interactions, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and project requirements.
- Manage EHS training, competency programmes and site-wide safety initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate EHS resources, PPE and management systems are in place to support safe project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning and Client teams to embed EHS throughout every phase of the project.
- Provide strategic guidance on environmental management, sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance.
