Design Manager – Warrington – Competitive Salary + Benefits

 leading specialist in commercial glazing and façade solutions is seeking an experienced  Design Manager  to oversee fenestration projects from concept through to construction. You’ll lead design programmes, ensure high-quality technical outputs, develop your team, and play a key role in delivering complex commercial projects.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in  Design Management role  within fenestration, curtain walling or engineered façade products
  • Strong technical knowledge of  windows, doors & curtain walling systems, including hardware, glazing, thermal, acoustic & structural performance
  • Excellent understanding of  UK regulations, CWCT guidance, testing standards & compliance requirements
  • Confident interpreting  project specifications (NBS), drawings and Design & Build contractual responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of  installation methods, fabrication processes, fixings, drainage, finishes and key façade interfaces
  • Experience producing and reviewing detailed  drawings, schedules and technical documentation
  • Proven ability to  lead, mentor and develop a design team
  • Strong understanding of  design risk, liability and change control processes
  • Organised, commercially aware and capable of delivering projects to programme
Key Duties:
  • Lead and manage the inhouse Design team, overseeing workload, priorities and team performance
  • Produce and review drawings, schedules and technical documentation for client approval and fabrication
  • Oversee projects from tender through to construction issue, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Act as technical authority and escalation point for complex design queries
  • Ensure adherence to QA procedures, regulatory requirements and Golden Thread principles
  • Provide specialist technical input on secure fenestration systems, glazing, fixings and testing standards
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Production, Installation, Procurement and R&D to ensure coordinated delivery
  • Manage design change control, assessing programme, cost and compliance impacts
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across the department
  • Represent the business at client meetings, design reviews and site visits
