The Opportunity
We're recruiting for an experienced Active Fire Safety Bid Estimator to join a growing specialist fire safety contractor delivering projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in active fire safety maintenance who is looking to move into, or further develop, a commercial estimating career. You'll play a key role in producing accurate, competitive tenders for a range of active fire protection projects while working closely with sales, technical and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate cost estimates for active fire safety projects, including fire alarms, emergency lighting and suppression systems.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to prepare competitive quotations.
- Complete quantity take-offs and attend site surveys where required.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Support the tender process from enquiry through to submission.
- Identify technical, commercial and compliance risks during the estimating stage.
- Work collaboratively with operational and project delivery teams to ensure estimates are practical and achievable.
- Ensure all estimates comply with current fire safety legislation, Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven hands-on experience in active fire safety maintenance (essential).
- Previous estimating experience within fire safety, construction or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, suppression systems and associated maintenance requirements.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Fire industry qualifications, FIA training or manufacturer certifications would be advantageous but are not essential as training will be given.
