About me:
I’ve worked in recruitment for around 15 years now, starting out as a consultant before gradually moving more into the operations side of things.
I definitely didn’t grow up thinking I’d end up in recruitment, I sort of fell into it, but once I was in, I realised pretty quickly that it suited me. I love how fast-paced it is, the fact that you’re constantly being thrown into different situations and that no two days ever really look the same.
A lot of my career has been about getting stuck into the behind-the-scenes side of a business and figuring out how to make things work better. Before COVID, I was working within the NHS in a really intense environment and helped build a new system for my employer, which probably sums up the sort of thing I enjoy most – being given a problem, getting thrown in at the deep end and working out a way through it.
Outside of work, life is usually pretty busy with the kids! When I do manage to get a spare minute, I like getting to the gym, catching up and socialising with friends, and generally switching off a bit.
And when it comes to films, you really can’t go wrong with Harry Potter – especially when watching it with the kids gives me a good excuse to put it on again!
What do you enjoy most about working at V7 Recruitment?
For me, it’s probably the pace and the fact there’s always something going on.
I like being somewhere where you can get properly stuck in, work things out and feel like you’re actually making a difference rather than just following the same process every day.
Having worked across recruitment for so long, it’s also nice to be able to bring that experience into the operations side and look at things from both angles.
It’s still very early days for me at V7, but everyone’s been really welcoming so far and I’m looking forward to getting involved, helping things run smoothly behind the scenes and seeing where we can take things as the business keeps growing.
