About me:
I’ve worked in recruitment for over 30 years now, across a real mix of industries including construction, oil and gas and plenty in between.
For me, the best part of recruitment has always been the people. You get to meet so many different personalities, work with people from all walks of life and, particularly when you’re working internationally, really immerse yourself in different cultures.
I’ve spent more than 15 years of my career travelling internationally for work and that’s always been a massive plus for me. I genuinely enjoy being somewhere different, meeting new people and understanding how different markets and cultures operate.
I’m now working as a Senior Account Manager with V7 in Finland, alongside Jason, helping support the team and our growing work in the region.
Outside of work, I’m a huge football fan and a lifelong Everton supporter – so there have definitely been a few ups and downs over the years! I’m also a big cricket fan and will happily watch that whenever I get the chance.
What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment?
It really is all about the people for me.
After more than 30 years in the industry, that’s still the part I enjoy most. Recruitment gives you the chance to build relationships with people you probably never would have crossed paths with otherwise, and working internationally adds another layer to that.
Being able to travel, experience different cultures and build relationships around the world has been a huge part of my career, and something I’ve always really valued.
That variety is what has kept recruitment interesting for me for so long – different people, different places and always something new going on.
