V7 Recruitment Phishing Scam

Scam Alert stock image

ATTENTION! We have been contacted by several people informing us that they are receiving unsolicited WhatsApp messages from individuals claiming to be V7 Recruitment employees.

The individuals say they want to share details of a vacancy and then encourage you to click a link to view more details such as salary information.

Having reviewed screenshots we can confirm that these are not employees of V7 Recruitment. These individuals are attempting to carry out a phishing scam whilst masquerading as V7 employees and we would encourage you to not engage and simply delete and block the number.

How do you know if you have received a phishing SMS or if its genuine contact from us?

  • We never make initial contact via WhatsApp. If this is the first time you have heard from someone at V7 and the contact is via WhatsApp then it will not be us.
  • Our Meet the Team page is always kept up to date. If the person contacting you is not listed on our website, then they are not a V7 employee. https://lnkd.in/esnugK_F
  • Check the phone number. Our office phone number is 0161 394 1000.
  • If you receive an email it will always be @v7recruitment.com, we do not use gmail or any other domains for our email accounts.

Investigations have been complete, and we can confirm there have been no data breeches. The people who reported the incident were not part of our database and it seems this was a random attempt to pose as a trusted business to gain information.

We apologise for any inconvenience. All information has been collated and submitted to action fraud which will hopefully stop these individual posing as V7 employees, but please let us know if you receive any further unsolicited correspondence by emailing contactus@v7recruitment.com.

You can also report the phishing scam yourself using the below Action Fraud link, simply enter the details on the form to report the scam, this will go a long way to helping us put an end to the issue, the more information they have the better!

Alternatively, scam texts can be forwarded to 7726 which is a free reporting service provided by phone operators.

  1. I’ve had a text message from the number “+44 7481 340282” apparently from someone called Annie.

The text message read as follows:
“Nice to meet you ,I’m Annie from V7 Recruitment.
Currently our clients are offering various opportunities, may i share more details with you ?”

Thank you for having such a clear message about the scam on your website.

  2. Hello, yea I think I’ve been roped into a scam too.. someone claiming to be Grace and her boss reaching out to me via Watsap…. Offering positions on behalf of Izea? Only using crypto currency as a payment method

  3. It seems these people are very persistent, as I was contacted twice over the weekend. Contact was via “WhatsApp” and I have blocked and reported both numbers. Thank you for the information on this page. Can I ask have you been in contact with LinkedIn over this as I can only think this may be a common thread.

On a different note, I would like to have a conversation about registering with you, please
